Are you a storyteller? Write us a guide

Catherine Boyd Guide Example

We’re looking for people with savvy knowledge about living like a local in the Barrington Coast.

The tourism team is busily crafting content for the new Barrington Coast destination website in time for our upcoming launch. An exciting part of the new site is the editorial feel of the content: stories, articles and field guides!

Field guides to the region are being written by the tourism team and, more importantly, by local and visiting ‘experts’ too. And by experts we mean those who are knowledgeable and discerning, with savvy insights about the best experiences to be found here. This provides authenticity to the website content, coming from those with the best familiarity.

We’re also reaching out to regular visitors to create their own field guides to the region. We know our regular visitors are our best ambassadors, so now they can expand their word-of-mouth influence to others on our website, helping them to ‘live like a local’ on their next visit.

We’re looking for your help

So, from camping spots to cultural events, lookouts to local produce… if you have a story to tell or a wonderful experience to share with the world, let us know. Submit your own field guide and we’ll see how we can best use it. Maybe you’ll help others fall in love with the Barrington Coast too!

All field guides have author credit shown and there’s a short author bio to read too, so you can bask in some your well-earned glory.

See an example field guide here written by regular visitor and Barrington Tops loyal fan Catherine Boyd to give you an idea of what we’re looking for.

Your field guide can be about your own Barrington Coast business or anything you like! Some ideas include:

  • My guide to a long weekend in xxxx
  • My favourite places to eat in xxxx
  • The best coffee in the Barrington Coast
  • Where to cast a line on Wallis Lake
  • Why xxx is my favourite beach
  • Why xxx is my favourite camping spot
  • Here’s why you should stay with us

Have another idea? Let us know, we want our new website to be full of interesting ideas and tips about maximising the enjoyment to be found in the Barrington Coast.

Download our Expert Guide Template here. This document shows how we structure our field guides to help you get writing.

Disclaimer: We cannot guarantee that all guides submitted will be used on the website. However, we promise to follow-up with all authors of these potential guides to provide feedback and assist where we can.
