The fun-running phenomenon Parkrun commences at Gloucester in January 2020.
Parkrun organises 5km timed runs around the world every week and they’re free to participate in. Open to everyone, the runs are safe and easy, and are growing in popularity.
Across the Barrington Coast, Parkrun Forster and Parkrun Taree are already popular weekly events and now Gloucester Parkrun is joining their ranks.
Launching on the Saturday of the January long weekend, the Gloucester Parkrun kicks off at 8.00am in Gloucester District Park. Parkruns always take place in pleasant parkland surroundings and people of every ability can take part; from walkers or those taking their first steps in running to Olympians; from juniors to those with more experience… all are welcome.
It costs nothing to take part but you’ll need to register before your first run. (Only ever register with Parkrun once.) And don’t forget to bring a printed copy of your barcode for scanning, otherwise you won’t get a time recorded.
