Caravan tourists spend $163 per couple per day

Ever wondered how much money those big groups of tourists actually spend in the region?

Here’s an example that shows even superbly self-reliant caravanners can have an big economic impact… spending $163 per couple per day.

The Sydney Central Coast A’Van Group recently spent a week in the Gloucester Holiday Park. They were curious about the economic impact of their visit so they asked their members to record their daily spending.

They recorded only the actual dollars spent in Gloucester and did not include any money spent prior to arriving.

17 of their members responded to the survey & they spent a total of $9,717. This works out as $572 per person for the week.

So we can easily confirm that the average spend for a grey nomad couple travelling in a caravan is $163 per day. That’s a big deal for any small town or community!

  • Site fees  $3,195
